- Good preparation; having information about your competitors or the industry, having knowledge of the product, service or subject of negotiations.
- Knowing yourself: what stands in my way, what needs changing and what needs to be improved.
- Knowing your fellow negotiator: culture, manner of decision-making, requirements, importance, etc.
- Communication and argumentation.
- Asking questions that prompt responses with important information.
- Listening.
- The dynamics, strategy of negotiations: from difficult topics to light themes, nothing is agreed until everything is agreed.
- Conclusion and execution from a substantive, time frame and financial point of view.
If you incorporate all of these 8 tips, your negotiations will be more efficient, while the success you achieve will open up opportunities for developing your business, political power, personal satisfaction….
Remember, negotiations start with you!
